WHO ARE WE?
Kheth’impilo is derived from Xhosa (an indigenous language in the Republic of South Africa that means “Choose Life”).
Kheth’Impilo-RDC (KI-DRC) is a local NGO in the Democratic Republic of Congo that is currently funded by PEPFAR/USAID to implement the HIV Epidemic Control (HEC) project in the province of Lualaba by intensifying the provision of HIV/AIDS services according to the prescriptions of the National Strategic Plan in order to achieve epidemic control through the 95-95-95.
KI-DRC has also positioned itself to penetrate other sectors of socio-economic development in the DRC by promoting innovation in communicable disease management, community mobilization, education, mentoring of medium-sized farmers in agribusiness, community microfinance, and
empowerment of local communities through the use of software to facilitate social services.
In doing so, KI-RDC aims to be an agent of socio-economic transformation in the country through innovative grassroots community interventions aimed at uplifting local communities and actively participating in the fight against poverty among highly vulnerable populations.

Our Mission
Kheth'Impilo-DRC's mission is to help the individual, household, communities and government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) achieve their development goals in a sustainable manner.

ii. Strengthening the social protection system through
iii. Capacity building for government, community-based organizations and civil society.

Dr Bomby Mwanji KABONGO (MBL, MM, MD)

A Medical Doctor and Development Policy expert, has extensive experience in Public Health in Africa. Holder of a Master’s in Public Management and Development Management from Wits University and a Master’s in Business Leadership from Unisa, and pursuing a PhD in Corporate Leadership, Bomby is passionate about development sciences in general, particularly public health policy, health care systems strengthening and socioeconomic development. Bomby’s career spanning Southern, Central and West Africa over the past 2 decades is marked by a commitment to mentoring and capacity building. Bomby has experience in Organisational Strategic Management spanning over 18 years and has held various management positions in the past such Senior Technical Director at GRM/ Futures Group (now Palladium) in the Sexual HIV Prevention Programme (SHIPP), Clinical Manager at TB/ HIV Care Association, Country Lead Kheth’Impilo and Deputy Chief of Party Kheth’Impilo-DRC.

Dr. Jean Muya Kanyinda (MPH, MD)

Holds a Master’s in Public Health (Medunsa, 2010) and a Medical Doctor degree (UNILU, 1998). He has 27 years’ work experience as a Medical Doctor, 15 years experience as Public Health Specialist and completed various medical and business courses over the years and has excellent skills and knowledge of HIV prevention and care. Dr Jean Muya Kanyinda is currently the Chief of Party of the USAID – Espoir 2030- Lualaba project, having served previously in the same position for the HIV Epidemic Control (HEC-Lualaba . He’s carried out the implementation of programs such as PMTCT, ARV/ART, TB, IPT, VCT (HAST), mother to child and maternal health, malaria, EPI, and rehabilitation, with strong experience in the implememtation of PEPFAR programs.
He has also worked in South Africa at Kheth’Impilo in Western Cape, in Botswana where he was the first ARV Site Manager for 6 years in Palapye and then as Head of Okavango District Health Management Team (DHMT-Head) and in Zambia as Head of Kabompo District Hospital in Zambia.

Annie-Rosette Ngalula Bapinga

Holds a Bachelor degree and a post-graduate diploma in law from the Université Catholique du Congo (UCC). She has authored some articles such as “L’abolition de la peine de mort dans le droit positif congolais” (The abolition of the death penalty in Congolese positive law and “Consommation de tabac: nécessité d’une pénalisation” (Tobacco consumption: the need for criminalization).
She is a registered Attorney at the Court of Appeal in Kinshasa and has been practicing law within the areas of civil law, criminal law, administrative law, commercial law, tax law and labor law, with a strong passion and interest in the specific areas of family, labor, mining and criminal.

Prof Berthe Banzua Mbombo (PhD, MPH, MD)

MD, MPH, PhD is a widely regarded Congolese expert in HIV service delivery and a proven manager of USAID-funded programs, with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Banzua currently serves as KIDRC’s Director of Programmes. Dr Banzua served as Deputy chief of Party at IHAP-Kinshasa project and as technical coordinator in ProVIC project, both USAID funded, where she lead the project’s successful technical implementation and clinical services. With over 20 years of broad expertise in HIV service delivery and programming, Dr. Banzua has a track record of successful coordination with local and international partners and national stakeholders across the continuum of HIV services and related global health programming. She is a prominent leader in her field and a sought-after advisor in DRC for issues related to HIV treatment scale-up, adherence to treatment, PMTCT, community engagement, capacity building of health cadres, and management of health service delivery programs. She brings strong experience supporting technical program implementation and development of technical documents, including clinical guidelines and tools.

Moise Kapend Mbav (M, MPH, MD)

Moise holds an Executive MBA from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Kinshasa and Germany), a Bachelor degree in Financial Management at the University of Lubumbashi (Economics Sciences). He has worked in the area of finance, accounting and administrative management for over 16 years with various international Non- Governmental Organisations active in DR Congo, with USAID DRC mission as finance staff within Office of Finance Management and with Intra Health International into ASAP II project as consultant in charge of Technical Assistance for capacity building of Local Organisations in DRC.
Throughout my career in finance –accounting and administrative management, I had fulfilled various positions such as Senior Accountant, Finance and Operations Manager, National Financial Analyst ,Voucher Examiner , Consultant in financial management and compliance etc…and currently Director of Administration and Finance of Kheth’Impilo-DRC
